BlickenWolf founders Kenneth L. Blickenstaff and Carmen R. Wolf are leaders in corporate healthcare compliance. Together they bring a unique perspective of both how the government approaches issues and how healthcare delivery really works. Our goal is to help healthcare providers nationwide improve service delivery, minimize risk and protect business integrity.
Ken Blickenstaff, a former partner with Deloitte & Touche, is past president of the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units and a former law enforcement officer assigned exclusively to healthcare fraud prosecutions. Throughout his career Ken has provided internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, corporate compliance programs and risk assessments. He has extensive experience with Corporate Integrity Agreements including annual compliance, billing and systems reviews, and mandatory training. Ken conducts a broad range of healthcare investigations and provides fraud awareness and prevention to clients. He also assists healthcare payers in establishing special investigation units and fraud detection techniques as part of claims processing.
Carmen Wolf, a registered nurse and former senior manager for Deloitte & Touche, has extensive experience conducting and managing a broad range of healthcare investigations and in providing fraud awareness and prevention training to clients. She assists providers with risk assessments as part of the overall development and implementation of corporate compliance programs. Carmen has consistently helped clients identify underlying operational issues that lead to non-compliance and has assisted with retooling processes to ensure future compliance. Like Ken, Carmen has done extensive work related to Corporate Integrity Agreements including annual compliance, billing and systems reviews and mandatory training. She is also a former manager of the Milwaukee Heart Institute.
Klinton Brown, Director of Revenue Cycle Services, CPAT, CCAT, has extensive experience in revenue cycle management, accounts receivable efficiencies, A/R analysis, financial trending, and cash maximization for healthcare organizations. He consults with all levels of administration and management to design revenue cycles, develop processes to accelerate and maintain cash collections, and create liberal reimbursement environments. With his knowledge of Medicare policy and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, Klinton assists hospitals, physician groups, home health agencies, and other healthcare organizations in maintaining regulatory compliance. He also develops educational programming and provides training in the areas of documentation, reimbursement and compliance.
Debra Slaughter, CPC, has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry in the areas of revenue cycle management and operations. She possesses a strong working knowledge in multiple components of healthcare providers (hospitals, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, and physician groups). As a manager with BlickenWolf, Debra is able to pinpoint crucial operational and procedural issues that can lead to compliance violations and lost revenue. She is adept at revenue cycle analysis and assists clients in developing streamlined processes designed to meet their unique needs.
Jim Vagenas, Compliance and Investigative Consultant, works exclusively in the healthcare industry investigating known or suspected fraud, as well as providing fraud awareness and fraud prevention training to clients. Jim specializes in assisting healthcare providers with risk assessments as part of the overall development and implementation of corporate compliance and corporate integrity programs.
Dionne Oliver-Tankson has extensive experience in administrative management, human resources coordination, and supervising people and projects. She assists BlickenWolf clients in a variety of ways using her computer skills, knowledge of accounts payable and receivable, and medical billing and coding experience.
In addition, the BlickenWolf team has extensive and on-point experience in forensic accounting, coding & billing, clinical operations, statistical analysis, and law enforcement investigations.
