Measuring Effectiveness
Periodically, all organizations need to take a step back to evaluate whether the Compliance Program that was adopted is currently functioning to the degree that was intended. Functional effectiveness gets to the heart of whether an organization has truly been able to create a “culture of compliance.” In addition, the overall expectations of what activities an organization must conduct to ensure compliance have changed. Recent Corporate scandal across the U.S. has led both federal and State governments to impose higher standards through increased regulation and changes to the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. An organization must be able to demonstrate that it has set standards and evaluates its performance against those standards.
BlickenWolf has designed over 50 effectiveness tests. Once tested, we can assist clients in developing ongoing measurable benchmarks that will provide a periodic snapshot of an organization’s true commitment to compliance. We work with our clients to develop a set of benchmarks (6-8) that they can use to continue to measure periodically (usually quarterly, but at least annually).
